Don’t Forget Your Report Card Video!
Once you submit your Report Card request, we will get to work creating a quick explainer video to make sure you understand all of your metrics and where you stand against your competition. Check out this sample video where we compare Papa John’s SEO to Domino’s.
Wait, What Should My Main Keyword Be?
Good question. To choose a main keyword for your report card, start by thinking about what you’d like your target customer to Google to find you. For instance, if you are a therapist in Atlanta, your keyword could be “therapist in Atlanta.” If you are an e-commerce shop, think of the main thing you offer. Could it be “women’s yoga pants”? “colorful cookware”?
If you’re still struggling, don’t sweat it! Just give it a shot, and we might have some extra keyword advice for you in your explainer video.
Everything You’ll Learn in Your SEO Report Card
With our SEO Report Card, you’ll get a full breakdown of how your website is performing, with clear insights into the most important areas for SEO. Each part of the report helps you understand what’s working, what’s not, and where you can improve to start climbing the rankings. Here’s a rundown of what’s covered:
Your SEO Grade
Your SEO grade is a quick snapshot of how your website is performing in the eyes of search engines. It pulls together all the key metrics—like keyword usage, backlinks, and how accessible your site is—and gives you an overall score. This grade gives you a bird’s-eye view of how well your site is doing and where there’s room for improvement.
Ranking Insights
We dig into how your site is ranking for the keywords you're targeting. If you're aiming for competitive keywords like "public relations," we’ll show you how you're stacking up nationally or locally. And we’ll even suggest other keywords that might be easier to rank for in your area or niche, giving you a more strategic way to get found online. Ranking well on page one is key because if you’re buried on page four or five, you won’t get much (or any!) traffic.
Backlink Analysis
Backlinks are one of the biggest ways Google determines if your site is trustworthy. In this section, we look at how many backlinks you have and where they’re coming from. The more high-quality backlinks—like from big sites such as Forbes—the more likely Google is to trust and rank your site. We'll also break down your domain strength, which shows how strong your backlink profile is on a scale from 0 to 100.
On-Site Analysis
Google looks at your website’s title tags and keywords to figure out what your site is about, and in this section, we’ll review if your site is optimized correctly. Are your keywords in the right places? Is your homepage sending the right signals to Google? We’ll take a look at your content and suggest changes to make sure your site is targeting the right keywords, whether you want to focus locally or nationally.
Website Accessibility Report
Here, we make sure your website is fast and easy to crawl for search engines. We’ll also check if your site has things like robots.txt, which tells Google which pages to index and which to ignore. This section is all about making sure your website’s technical elements are working smoothly so you can rank better in search results.
Trust Metrics
Trust is huge when it comes to SEO. Google looks at metrics like your backlinks and overall domain strength to decide how trustworthy your site is. We’ll break down how you're doing on that front and show you what you need to improve. The better your trust metrics, the more likely you are to rank higher, especially if you're building quality backlinks from authoritative websites.
Current Indexing
This part looks at whether your site is even being indexed by search engines like Google and Bing. If your pages aren’t indexed, you won’t show up in search results—no matter how well-optimized your site is. We’ll help you figure out why you might not be ranking and what you can do to fix it so that your site starts showing up where it should.
