Meet Clarity Fitness
Clarity Fitness is a first-of-its-kind body positive gym in Decatur, Ga. After 2020, Clarity was left with a small marketing budget, minimal visibility in Google, and needing to rebuild their membership base.
Our SEO Goal
Like with most companies, the goal was simple: More visibility. More traffic. More members.
Clarity’s goal was to reach 200 members in 2022. They also wanted to continue to build brand awareness and momentum, so there was always a full pipeline.
The Strategy
Diversify Keywords = Expand Reach
In Atlanta’s competitive market, we needed to find a way to help Clarity stand out among the hundreds of other boutique gyms. We also knew that while tons of people would love a body-inclusive gym, they may not even know to search for such niche keywords.
We decided the best way to expand our reach was to diversify keywords, so future members could find us in a variety of ways. For Clarity’s Google Business Profile, we chose to focus on keywords unique to Decatur, Georgia. For the website, the opted for keywords that would allow the business to show up for all of Atlanta. While Atlanta’s keywords were far more competitive, they also had much higher search volumes. We would have been missing out of a huge opportunity by avoiding Atlanta keywords.
Author’s Note: For non-Atlanta readers, Decatur is so close to Atlanta, you don’t even have to get on the interstate. You could walk there. I HAVE walked there.

But wait… this is a body positive gym that greets you with a display of broken scales at the front door, and all you did was optimize them for “Gym near me”? Of course not. We knew there were tons of people asking questions around body positive fitness, so we used the blog as a place to answer those questions. That way, we were meeting people wherever they were in the gym-shopping journey.

The Results
Since December, Clarity's organic traffic has increased by 63%.
In April, they hit their client target and revenue goals for the year. Better yet, organic traffic continues to improve.
