Meet Rise
Rise Pilates is a boutique pilates studio offering floor and reformer pilates, TRX, and stretch classes. The studio was founded by former co-workers KVB and Brittany who bonded over their love of pilates during the pandemic. We met when I crashed their member’s event at FemmeX. They had recently moved into their first studio space and were ready to scale!
Our SEO Goal
Our SEO strategy was all about increasing visibility and connecting with people looking for pilates in Columbia, SC. We were going up against a lot of other boutique studios and, of course, the big pilates and workout chains.

Never Underestimate Your Google Business Profile
Whenever I’m working on a local SEO strategy, I always start with the client’s Google Business Profile. These profiles usually show up in searches far faster than other organic results, so it’s a great way to kick off work with a new client. I also love how Google Business Profiles showcase everything you need to know about a business at a glance. We made sure Rise’s profile was updated, full of great photos, and ready to drive traffic!
Keep An Eye on the Competition
The fitness industry is very competitive. Even on a local level. When trying to rank for new keywords, it is always important to understand who you are up against. We took the time to dig into the competition and make sure we were going after keywords that could rank quickly and drive the right traffic to Rise’s website.
Prioritized Site Health
Making sure a website is in the best health possible health ensures there is nothing keeping it from ranking as high as possible in Google. We priorized Rise’s web health from the start to make sure it was loading fast and didn’t have any 404s or redirects weighing it down.

The Results
Within a month, we started to see the website rising in the ranks and fresh organic traffic flowing in. At the end of our first six-month contract, we are celebrating a 51% increase in organic traffic and a 104% increase in website clicks from Rise’s Google Business Profile. More importantly, sales from organic traffic have increased by 194%. At the time of writing this, Rise’s return on investment from working with us is at 1,253%. However, since they offer monthly memberships, their ROI will continue to increase throughout the lifetime of their clients’ memberships.
